Trekkies are marking Sept. 28 as a big day. 

It was 30 years in the past that the TV collection Star Trek: The Subsequent Era first aired. Aboard the starship USS Enterprise, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (the position that launched worldwide audiences to Patrick Stewart) led the crew by area adventures properly into the longer term. 

The collection, which adopted the ultimate mission of the unique Enterprise crew led by Captain Kirk (performed by William Shatner), continued for seven years, with the ultimate episode airing in 1994.
